This year’s World Cancer Day (WCD) is taking place on Sunday, 4 February 2018. This annual event explores how everyone can do their bit to share and support the burden of cancer.
Over the last few weeks, the Targeting Cancer campaign has been helping promote WCD and its #WeCanICan message through its social media outlets. Promotion will be increased in the run-up to the event with further activities.
Members are asked to support the effort by highlighting these activities through their own social media channels (Liking our posts and tagging us in posts on Facebook or the Targeting Cancer Twitter handle @targetingcancer) in the run-up to and on the day itself.
The World Cancer Day website (www.worldcancerday.org) also has customised tweets which can be easily retweeted, as well as tweets with the hashtag #WeCanICan. The WCD website also has custom-made posters bearing key messages from this year’s day which can easily be printed off from the website (www.worldcancerday.org/materials). These are a simple way to promote the day.
The day will also be used to spread the word about Targeting Cancer and the importance of radiation therapy in cancer treatment.
Members are also encouraged to assist by putting Targeting Cancer bumper stickers in their cars or using other campaign promotional materials which are available.
