Specialist Training Program Expression of Interest NOW Open Tuesday 13 March 2018

The Department of Health has now confirmed the Expression of Interest (EOI) online process for new Specialist Training Program (STP) Positions (excluding Integrated Rural Training Pipeline Positions) is now open from 9am (AEDT) Tuesday 13 March 2018 to 5pm (AEDT) Monday 9 April 2018.

Links and instructions will be published on the Department of Health’s website prior to the EOI commencing, however will not be operational until the specified dates above. For more information please refer to; http://www.health.gov.au/internet/main/publishing.nsf/Content/work-spec.

The College would strongly advise all sites who are interested in providing high quality training under the network rotation model to apply. Please be aware any rotation under STP Funding must be a minimum of 3 months in duration.

As you may recall a previous online Expression of Interest was carried out and closed on 30 November 2016. The successful sites were notified in early 2017 and many are still on the current reserve list. Any site who is on the reserve list will not need to apply in the new EOI and will remain eligible up until 2020.

The intent of the EOI is for settings to express an interest and if found suitable, these settings will be placed on the colleges reserve list for STP. The reserve list can be utilised to fill posts when vacancies become available. Placement on the reserve list does not guarantee funding.

Please be aware that STP funding is not transferrable between training sites and private organisations (with multiple settings) must submit applications for each individual site where training will take place. Any potential site considering an application and not currently accredited is encouraged to commence their accreditation process in the next few weeks as the application process can take 6 months or longer depending on approval from CRETC or ROETC.
