RANZCR is seeking a CR Chief Accreditation Officer

Expressions of interest are invited from Fellows in Clinical Radiology for the appointment of Chief Accreditation Officer (CAO) in Clinical Radiology. This role oversees the accreditation of clinical radiology training sites and networks providing advice and recommendations to the Clinical Radiology Education and Training Committee while regularly reviewing and promoting accreditation standards and policies to ensure appropriate support and training is provided.

The CAO is the Chair of the Clinical Radiology Accreditation Committee (CRTAC). The CRTAC are responsible for the oversight and management of Clinical Radiology Training Standards at all RANZCR CR training sites.

Commitment

Attendance at accreditation visits or delegation of duties to other accreditation panel members as appropriate; to be available 2-5 hours per week for consultation with College staff regarding administration activities and attendance at all Clinical Radiology Education and Training Committee and CRTAC meetings.

Term

The CAO will be appointed for a three-year term from 1 January 2024 concluding 31 December 2026.

Eligibility

The Faculty of Clinical Radiology By-Laws allow any Fellow or Life Member of the Faculty of Clinical Radiology to be nominated as Chief Accreditation Officer, this is subject to a decision regarding the appointment by the Faculty Council. However, a number of attributes are expected to facilitate the fulfilment of the role, including:

Essential Attributes:

  • At least five (5) years post-FRANZCR
  • A Fellow or Life Member of the Faculty of Clinical Radiology
  • Actively involved in an accredited teaching and training program
  • Experience in areas of Clinical Radiology, in addition to work (e.g. education training, management, governance, RANZCR)
  • A skilled evaluator and good communicator
  • Able to participate in at least three site visits before commencement in the role.

Desirable attributes:

  • Knowledgeable with respect to the Faculty’s Accreditation Standards, Network Training Policies and the accreditation process
  • Highly developed leadership skills across a broad range of relationships including Fellows, trainees, staff and external stakeholders
  • Highly-developed advocacy, negotiation skills
  • Understanding of the medical, educational, operational, regulatory and political environment in which the College operates
  • Interest and expertise in accreditation matters
  • Past or current experience as a College examiner and/or Director of Training.
