This position statement is designed to provide radiologists and radiological practices involved in paediatric imaging with a range of guidelines and resources in order to better understand the use of sedation and anaesthesia within the paediatric population. This document also provides radiologists and radiological practices with a range of best practice techniques to be implemented with the aim of reducing the use of unnecessary sedation and anaesthesia in the paediatric population.

Position Statement on the Use of Sedation and Anaesthesia in Paediatric Imaging
The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law 2009 (Commonwealth) and New Zealand Medicine Act 1981 (National Law) outlines the requirements for health services when advertising regulated health professionals or services. This document aims to provide both individuals and medical imaging practices with a list of principles supported by the College regarding any advertising of medical imaging services. National Law should always be observed when advertising medical imaging services.
