RANZCR welcomes the recommendations from the Diagnostic Medicine Clinical Committee (DMCC) including the proposed introduction of Clinical Decision Support (CDS). RANZCR believes it is imperative that any work to progress Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) and CDS for medical imaging should be led by RANZCR in coordination with the Australian Department of Health, drawing expertise from stakeholders including referrers (such as the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Australasian College for Emergency Medicine) and providers of radiology services. This partnership would underpin governance arrangements and facilitate collaborative relationships with key stakeholder.
