The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists produced a guidance information development process that was pragmatic, combining available evidence with expert consensus.

The scope of the evidence base was limited to existing Australian and international decision tools and evidence based guidelines. Where these did not exist, systematic reviews have been utilised to inform recommendations for good practice and when these were unavailable, expert consensus was sought.
