The Faculty of Radiation Oncology (FRO) supports the overall aims of better sharing of health data between providers in order to enhance patient care. Too often, care is unnecessarily fragmented due to challenges accessing relevant and timely information. Radiation oncologists work very closely in multidisciplinary teams within and between hospital settings and the community. This necessitates secure and timely sharing of information about patients. Moreover, radiation therapy is delivered in public hospitals and private facilities, with approximately half of patients attending in both settings, therefore we strongly support measures to improve transfer of information between service providers.
