The Faculty of Radiation Oncology appreciates being given the opportunity to provide feedback on the MBS Review Taskforce Report from the Report from the Specialist and Consultant Physician Consultation Clinical Committee and to share it with our members and key stakeholders.

The Faculty agrees with the comment that the distinction between consultant physicians and specialists is no longer valid, with both physicians and specialists performing procedures and complex consultations. We also agree that it is inappropriate to assume that high cognitive function only applies to physicians.This response focuses on the oncology-related recommendations. We note that there was no oncologist representation on the Specialist and Consultant Physician Consultation Clinical Committee.
