The COVID-19 pandemic has rapidly and severely affected private and community-based radiology services in Australia. The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) is calling on the Federal Government to provide reassurances that vulnerable clinical radiology practices can remain viable during this period. Unaddressed, there is a risk that some community-based practices may cease to exist, which would disrupt and diminish the quality and availability of healthcare, particularly in rural and remote areas where there may be only one practice.
