December 2019
RANZCR’s Faculty of Radiation Oncology developed a paper on Establishing and Sustaining Regional, Rural and Remote Radiation Therapy Centres in 2016. It provides guidance on expected standards for the establishment and continuing management of radiation therapy centres in regional, rural and remote areas, and in outer metropolitan centres or community settings. This paper has now been revised in the context of the Federal government’s focus to improve access to radiation therapy as a result of the 2019 elections, and the New Zealand Government’s 2019 commitment to increased resources for new and existing regional centres in New Zealand.
