CPD Activities

For general information about Continuing Professional Development, see CPD Overview

CPD eligible activities are grouped into seven categories:

  • Professional and Clinical Governance
  • Teaching, Training and Supervision
  • Self-Directed Learning
  • Research
  • Publications and Presentations
  • Attendance at Conferences and Meetings
  • Maintenance of Professional Standards.

Over the course of the CPD triennium (currently 2019 to 2021), you must complete:

  • At least 125 CPD points (due to COVID-19 exemptions) 
  • No minimum requirements for 2020-2021(due to COVID-19 exemptions)
  • Points in at least three categories.

If you record MRI and Mammography specific activities, you will also need:

  • 30 MRI-specific CPD points
  • 15 Mammography-specific CPD points.

How to record CPD points

You can record your annual CPD activities via the Learning Portal. CPD activities for the calendar year are to be submitted by the end of January in the following year.

The below documents are for use when completing CPD activities. The use of the documents constitutes evidence and can be uploaded to the Learning Portal to confirm completion of the appropriate activity:

e-Case submissions

For this triennium you will be allocated two CPD points per hour for each e-Case you submit. You can claim a maximum of 60 CPD points in Category 2.5C Exam Question Development for each year.

A complete e-Case comprises of clinical images and associated submission form (typed). Please retain a copy for CPD audit purposes. You can submit e-Cases from any body system, imaging modality, condition category and difficulty rating.
